>> While welding aluminum may provide some benefits, our adopted
process of using rivets provides not only a superb mechanical
connection, but also a significant improvement in electrical compliance
between the tubing and other components of the array. <<
Dandy! Please understand that my comments are not intended to stimulate
a knee-jerk protective response to a commercially available amateur
product. The thrust of the comments is to explore the limits of
idealism in design of antennas and there supports -- a central topic
that binds us here on this reflector.
I support the efforts of the "Force 12" people here. I appreciate and
value their years of experience and their general availability for
discussion.
It sounds as though if money were no object and you were not building a
product for commercial consumption in a price sensitive market -- then
you would personally prefer heli-arching the aluminum for reasons of
mechanical integrity and electrical continuity -- reasons of longevity
and minimizing maintenance.
Does this correctly restate your position?
