In working with wire and rope to make 4 squares, wire beams and other
antennas that trees love to snarl, here is what I have found to work
well:
Make a wire loop at each end of the wire element that you want to
suspend. Solder it. Then loop the rope and tie a knot at each wire
loop all the way down (you CAN use one continuous rope for each end
although it is not necessary). By putting tension on the top and bottom
of each rope holding the elements you will maintain relatively taut
elements with whatever spacing that you determine.
This WILL work and it is relatively cheap and easy to maintain. Hoep
