I had the same problem back in '92 trying to put a T2X in a Rohn HDBX.
I finally found I could do it by removing the rotor plate and turning
it upside down. This gave about one inch more clearance which was all
that was needed. When I called the Rohn factory about it they said a
T2X won't fit into an HDBX, but they were interested in the upside
down business and would look into it. I never heard back from them.
I wonder if your HDBX is the same as mine. What year was it made?
