[TowerTalk] Attaching Large Antennas to Rohn-45 Legs

A picture is worth a thousand words
so here goes:
					        	
(One, or) two pieces of horizontal aluminum channel.
 End view of channel :    |___|
					      		        
Three  vertical members,  two tower legs,
and a short 2 (or 3) inch diameter piece of 1/4 inch wall mast .

Use two U-bolts at each attachment of the channel.

The "outrigger" mast allows the beam to be pointed where needed.
The channel spreads the load over 4 attachment  points on two legs.
Space the channel approximately 3 ft  (two steps) for one beam,
or more if two side mounts are desired (such as 10 and 15 M on 
one tower).   To minimize the torque load on the tower, place the
mast as close as possible to the nearest leg.

A  ROTOR can be placed between the pieces of channel if it is
desired to rotate the side mounted beam.  In this case, the 
U-bolts on the upper channel need to be opened up to allow
rotation.  This can be accomplished by putting nuts on both 
sides of the channel, leaving a small gap.

If you do not intend to rotate the lower beam, a large 
boom to mast plate can be mounted across two tower legs,
assuming the legs are aligned in the desired direction.
