[TowerTalk] lightening and uhf/vhf triband vertical on top of mast

If a triband vertical (2m-70cm) was placed on top of a mast at the 74 foot level
would it be prone to lightening strikes?  Would it be better side mount it on
the tower?  The loss in coverage due to the shielding from the tower may not be
worth it.
