[TowerTalk] Tower Height question

I never noticed slop like that on the Tri-Ex, Joe.
The inside of the legs were clean like a rail road track
all the way up.

You still have no problem...I think most of these stories
about crank-ups not having continuity are old wive's tales
from the cheapie tower days.

Not only do you have the raising cables running the entire length,
but you must put all coax and rotor cables on the inside of the tower
for shunt feeding. Make sure the coax shield to your yagi is grounded
to the tower at the antenna end and at the bottom. Polyphaser makes
great hardware for this.  The matching system must be an Omega
match, because you have no choice where to put the drop wire but at
the top of a section. I would put it at the section nearest the middle
of the tower for starters. This should be a killer antenna for 160 as my
LM-470D was.
