What you say is certainly correct. I've used home made open wire line for
over 60 years and the proper tuners for the least loss, cost, easy to repair,
doesn't need a balun, the very low loss never changes (I use insulated wire)
and I never have to replace it even after 60 years. It's making a comeback.
