Hi,
I have fond memories of this issue. Several years ago when we started to
roll out a 900 MHz cellular system and the entire country had to be covered
we raised this question to several forums. The answer was given by an
ex-military engineer. He suggested to use non-glossy light dull gray paint.
He said that aviators spent lots of time and money to find the color for the
bottom of the fuselage, which gives the lowest visibility against the blue
of the sky.
I still remember the face of the construction company's engineer when I
handed over a tiny bottle of paint used for painting model planes and said
that all the towers and antenna structures should be painted like that.
The competitor used white paint for their structures and they were
remarkably less stealthy. From my experience I suggest to go for non-glossy
light gray paint.
