[TowerTalk] ground rods for towers

This depends on how paranoid you are...
I like the theory of 100 x 100 rods in a ground mat. (Not too
practical)
For a standard 72 foot tower I would not go less than 3 rods.
10 footers out 10 feet from each leg. I use 4 ground plates (they
are now approved for a house ground), 8 8' rods, and 6 4' rods.
All of these are interconnected by #4 bare copper. Neighbors have
claimed that my tower has been hit by lightning, but I haven't
seen
any damage inside my shack.
As always, more is better, just hook them up with parallel runs
of
copper.
