I'm doing some modeling for a friend. The antenna in question is a square,
full-wave 160m horizontal loop 32 feet above ground, fed 20' from one
corner. The feedpoint impedance makes a certain amount of sense -- quite
low -- but the gain numbers seem very optimistic to me. It's showing >10
dBi straight up, and >4 dBi at 35 degrees elevation.
Modeling with EZNEC 1.0, using high-accuracy ground, and a current source.
Can anyone see the clanger? Or is it maybe for real? Looks like a heck of
an NVIS antenna!
