My apologies to everyone -- I rebuilt the model and it now looks much more
reasonable -- some slight gain over a dipole at the same height, but gain
only on the order of 3.3 dBi straight up.

I may never know what I did, but now the feedpoint impedance looks more
like a full-wave loop, though the vertical component is still surprising to
me.
