[TowerTalk] Roof Towers

Kirk
I used a 10 foot tripod type tower on my roof with a Hy-Gain tribander for a
few years.

Anchoring the tower with 14" bolts drilled through the rafters and backed
with a cross bar which went across a few rafters inside the attic.
Held up real well.
Grounding is a problem, it's difficult.

A bigger problem could be the fact you are inside the pattern.
I had such terrible rf in my second floor, right under the antenna by 12
feet, shack that I had to move into the basement.

And you may want to run one of the safe level programs to tell you the rf
exposure for the people sleeping under that antenna.

Someone else may be able to give you the distance/power radiations levels
info.
