Guys,

I simply don't understand why there is so much mysticism about this
unit.

It's essentially two diodes, a relay and a capacitor. Adding an
indicator
costs your one more diode, a resistor and an LED. The RC time
constant for
delay is determined by the resistance of the relay coil and the
capacitor.

Given the relay, you can increase the delay to be anything
you want by simply changing the value of the capacitor. Just parallel
the existing cap with an Radio Shack 50v electrolytic. For example, if
the existing delay is 4 seconds and the existing cap is 10,000 ufd and
you want 6 seconds, add
another 4700ufd. Pay attention to the polarity. You may have to
mount this extra cap with double sided tape somewhere off the board.
If you want to shorten the delay simply put a pot across the relay
coil of about 10x the coil's resistance (measure it) and
adjust it till you get the delay you want. Then measure the pot's
value
and substitute a fixed value resistor.

These things are simple. I build them from junk box parts for my
rotors.
