Kurt is absolutely right, and it was my original post. The tapered reamer is
the little tool from Home Depot. Just use it to enlarge the solder holes on
the pl-259 a little bit.. The slightly larger hole forms a little cup shape
hole, and it really makes a difference when you solder! Cheers,

A "tapered reamer" will work fine for this exercise. Most hardware
stores carry them, they're quite popular with folks that don't have the
right size drill bits.

Standard Disclaimer: Tapered reamers are not recommended for use on load
bearing holes, unless your fasteners have the same taper, in which case
they'd be called taper pins. You find that stuff at an industrial supply
or bearing house, not at most hardware stores.

But, the cheapie HW brand tool is great for this kind of job, probably
one of the few applications it is really suited for.
