Ok, so for a 1/2 wave dipole array, such as the Comtek design, or the K8UR
design, what's best............a fairly decent ground screen or groups of
closely laid out radials laid out underneath the dipoles?????? Some have said
the ground screen can cause unwanted high angle radiation......(but that's
why the bottom of the dipoles are pulled back to the tower vs. pulled out
away from the tower according to ON4UN's 3rd edition) so would the ground
radials grouped under the dipoles be advantagious because they help to
minimize ground losses AND the creation of high angle radiation vs using a
ground screen that has a presence under the entire array??......But the
bigger the ground screen, the less the chances for losses, right? I'm
confused-
