After turning a 3 el 40m yagi for a few years, the Wilson WR-1000 rotor
was taken down today, and opened up. It had been failing to hold it in
position for a year or so and lately it was completely free wheeling. A
homebrew worm drive rotor has been built and will take its place but the
Wilson was a nice rotor and I'd like to get it working again. The brake
and ring gear are reasonably OK, the drive gears are not. My question,
before I put too much research into it is: are the spur gears used in the
power train "standard"? They look like a 3/16 face spur gear but in my
Browning catalogue, these have a 32 pitch, while the ones in the Wilson
look like an 8 or a 10 pitch - but are only listed available in a 1" face
or bigger according to the catalogue....
Anybody been there, done that and ???
