Wow, have we got money to spend! The old US economy
is really humming along. Were you interested in another
hobby featuring costly "tools", Amateur Astronomy, you
would also find yourself waiting long for upper end "toys".

For example, the finest opticians are now quoting at least
until early next Summer for delivery of excellent mirrors
of 18" or larger aperture. One has stopped accepting
new order as he now has an 18 month backlog! You
can't do anything to increase the output of an opticians
shop; they all must go through the skillful hands of only
one or two "artist" opticians to assure excellent optical
quality.

Five years ago long delays were not experienced. Now,
more folks must have more money to spend. An excellent
telescope mirror, of say 20" or so, is priced around
$5000 or higher; and if you want real "guarantees",
expect to pay $20,000 or more. And people are!!

Yes, there is a lot of money around for our "toys".
And demand is so high, satisfaction is long in arriving.
