I work in an industrial plant under my supervision I have mechanics,
machinists who weld, and other professional trades people. The question
that I raise is not whether one can build and design successfully a homemade
tower. I don't think it would be cost-effective. By the time, you took in
the time, effort, cost of materials, and also the tooling necessary,
especially if you are dealing with galvanized materials, it would be in my
experience, you would end up spending more than what you can purchase one
for. The only advantage I could see is the self satisfaction that you made
it yourself! To some Hams with some pretty sophisticated skills, that might
