    As far as water entry, what happens is that it gets into the 
boom/elements as water vapor and then condenses. After awhile you can get a 
bunch of water in there especially if you've got *good* caps that'll trap the 
water. If you've got the plastic ones - drill a hole in the bottom of each 
cap for drainage.

    Yep, another good idea. Solves the water drainage problem too.
