    I would recommend reading Dave Leeson, W7NL, ex-W6QHS's book on "Physical 
Design of Yagi Antennas" where it covers mast strength and requirements very 
well.

    I got an email from Dick Weber, K5IU, who is a PE (Stan is not) which 
disputed some of Stan's calculations and methods. I'm still waiting for Dick 
to publish something that would explain it better but until he does, Dave's 
info is recommended.
