Hi Steve,
I think what Dick, K5IU, found wrong with Stan's article,
was also questioned about Dave's, W6NL, book and in fact
what he showed was wrong with what most everyone (Hygain,
Cushcraft....etc) was doing up to that time, including me
with YS.
The issue was over how windloads are developed on a yagi
antenna, which we've discussed here many times. I do not
believe there was much drama over the basic mast calc's,
they are quite straightforward.
Dick published this information in the spring, 1993 edition
of Communications Quarterly.
We can all thank Dick for pointing us in the right
direction, eventhough it is unclear if everyone is now going
in the right direction.
Anyone that may be interested in what was presented can find
a short discussion in the new ARRL Antenna Book, 19th Ed,
Chapter 22.
