...only thing on those trailer/automotive type connectors is to watch out
for one thing - they have one unique pin which will have the opposite sex of
the rest, this is how you put the halves together correctly versus
"backwards"

...since that one exposed pin is a potential short to ground just waiting to
happen make sure it isn't a hot pin in your combination...that one exposed
pin (when not mated) should be used for something like a directional
indicator pot lead.  I know I sometimes leave things running in error so if
it is a "non-power" pin so what if it shorts against the tower leg.
