<< Thanks Ken,
I found the AntenneX website. Ted, K6HI
TED: I would suggest you print out all the antennas of interest and put them
in a 3 ring binder. I'm printing all of them. I have Cebik's disks of about
1000 different configurations, I've looked at about half of them and will
eventually print them all out. They are similar to what I've done but I
learned some new wrinkles like the Moxon 2 element beam. What I had seen
before wasn't properly illustrated before I guess. When I learn about a
great design I feel like I died and went to Antenna Heaven. It is a 2
element yagi about 25% shorter with the ends pointed at each other with
"Critical Coupling" between them and you will be hearing more about. It has
50 ohms and 40 dB F/B. I have 2 ways to increase the bandwidth. I gave full
recognition perhaps for the first time with the "K7GCO RF Design Excellence
Award" to the Moxon 2 element yagi. He's from England and has a good Antenna
Handbook. Hmmm! I have great plans for a new Quad design--when I get time.
Great technical designs deserve recognition which only Sports get in our
Society. I'm going to change that. I'm going to give out this award to the
antennas that qualify. There is a new yagi with 2 new innovations on the
market I have to check out first on the air. Actually it has 3 as it looks
like it has the "K7GCO Longevity Design" I like so well and very few shop for
it. It's a "put it up and forget it Dominator Beam" that no band aids have
to be added to. It should be called "The Commander". "Have Command of the
Band with the Commander." Here is a "Pop Quiz." Can anyone tell me which
one it is? It's great for the long winter months of SD.

You would be surprised what I have given the "K7GCO #1 All Time Greatest
Design" and 99% of the hams don't know about it. It picked up 4 S units gain
on the horizon (the original and desired direction of communication) just by
putting the high level of "Dreaded RF Spill Over" (it's original design
creates) to work in a very clever sort of way in a constructive manner. If
anyone can E-mail me with the antenna I'm talking about and how it works, I
will present the "K7GCO Brilliant TT'er Observer Award" to him in the next 5
days before I announce it. If no one gets it in 2 days I'll give a 2nd clue.
OK what was the 1st clue? This could be a toughie.

AntenneX a year ago started giving details of the new CFA antenna. Some
claim it doesn't work as claimed with the design data released. It would be
very dumb to release data that doesn't work. That's not a surprise as that
seems to occur with every new idea before all the researchers trying to
duplicate it work out their bugs. Unjust bad mouthing often occurs and great
designs have been stalled for many years--time after time after time. I'm
reviewing all the data I can and will build one when I can. AntenneX has
been criticized for presenting it in my opinion unjustly. They report new
ideas and there is no standard for comparison for it's design other than a
full size 1/4 wave. If they have been fed "massaged data" the "feeders" will
suffer in the end--it won't sell. If it's anywhere close they have alerted
their readers with great material. Dragging hams kicking and screaming into
new ideas gets to be a big pain. If a design checks out, the Nay Sayers just
fade away to Nay Say and Cripple another antennas progress. What cracks me
up is many of them select for their own use the worst antennas of the bunch.
Check first what they have before you listen. When I find out how the CFA
really works I'll report. For it's size, if it's even anywhere close to a
1/4 wave I'll be happy. I just recommended it should be studied for it's
claimed potential which I do all the time. Remember: Chip Margelli won a DX
Contest with an AEA Iso-Loop. K7GCO
