A number of experimenters, including myself, found that's 4-8 ft is probably
a very good compromise able to overcome the uncertain results typical of
lower and higher placed beverages.
Of course a "good compromise" is a subjective evaluation and might vary
depending on personal view point.

Try if you like and you trust modeling so much, but consider most of the
amateur available modeling programs have one of the weak point just with
wires parallel and close to the ground. When I tried, I found they are too
much generous with shown gain. (do not forget also the ground shape,
constants and ground penetration will surely vary along a typical
installation whose fact is not easily reproducible in a model)

No, beverage height it's not strictly a matter of used wavelenght.
Within reasonable limits, a low height is always better in rejecting other
modes than wave but has a bigger negative gain.

Perfectly possible that 3 ft (finally it's only 25% less the 4ft edge) high
beverage has good results in some locations. Likewise the electrical ground
differs from the real one, same out of the "edge" height could be good here
but wrong there.

In all my experiments, Beverages on very good ground like sea, or lake
water, did not work well.
