[TowerTalk] Roof top towers

I have an RT-1832 in progress, and I bought the GME bearing for the
top, which I will install, but some of the discussion here has been
very interesting.

Now, I seem to recall there is a type of wood used for bearings in
boats because it's "self-lubricating", but can't recall the type of
wood.  Does anyone else remember this?
