[TowerTalk] Take-Off Angles: N6BV's Book "All the right Angles"

I, too, have often wondered how the arrival angle is measured.  Does the
method
assume ground reflection as in outgoing signal thus height at maximum signal
would be used to triangulate angle?  A technical explanation would be
appreciated?  What equipment is used and how does it measure?
