So what's a tall tower? Any hams have anything over 500 feet?
Could be that our backyard birds are different than those high flyers.

Not true. Any broadcast engineer can tell you about the birds
that run
into towers. Tall ones really catch them, sometimes hundreds at
a time.
Around here, the F&G people want to know when you have a large
incident.
All they do is take a count of the bodies. Happens all the
time.
