I am using heavy coil at the base of the modified Hustlers. The coil goes
between the bottom of the antenna mast and the ground (body of car) On 40m it
is about 5turns of 1/4" copper tubing on 1" diameter. This provides match to
50 ohms and solid ground to the vehicle body.
Otherwise RF choke between the antenna and car body will also help.
When exiting the car and there is static in the butt involved, I use car key
to touch the door to discharge myself and avoid shocks.
