Hi Jim,
  Not sure where you're comming from but i think James had in mind that
beacons often have variable power levels and switch between them, i.e.,
10-1- .1 watts, or whatever. Gives one a pretty good sense of what the
differences in the power levels really mean, hands on, so to speak. 73
