I'm not sure the original author meant you couldn't put the guy wire around the
tower LEG. He said against a "rung".

In any case, guying around the leg and cross braces without a thimble as you
describe is also shown as proper installation on Rohn Drawing #B-750008 in one
of my archived catalogs. So what are we to believe? "Manufacturer's Truth" is
only good if he said it less than 10 years ago? It is true that the "best way"
to do something changes over the years but I have NEVER seen Rohn actually say
you should ignore any data in their older catalogs and I have never seen them
say that method of attaching a guy is not a good way to do it.

I wish there was some good way to share these drawings with you guys. I could
scan it but if I send it as an attachment for posting on towertalk, it won't
go, and for good reason. Maybe somebody has a web site where they would be
willing to post drawings if I scan and send them? Of course, this particular
drawing has the following note on it: "This drawing is the property of Rohn.
It is not to be reproduced, copied, or traced in whole or in part without our
written consent." I wonder if they would give me permission? If somebody is
willing to put it on a web site, I am willing to ask for permission.
