1.  Glen Martin's illustrations depict saddling the dead horse, but I
found text instructions on their professional page that clearly warn the
user AGAINST saddling the dead horse.

2.  I think my clamps LOOK the same relative to the "clamping radius".
That is, the cup of the saddle is the same radius as the U bolt part -
as they are brought slowly together, they eventually form a circle - not
sure exactly how this circle compares to the rope diameter, and it's
probably not a circle anymore when tightened down.

Maybe with SPECIFIC material (e.g. certain sizes of KEVLAR) and SPECIFIC
clamps, it doesn't make any difference!  If you had to "guess", saddling
the dead horse doesn't sound like the way to go!  HI  I left some
questions on the Dupont (maker of KEVLAR) web site - Maybe we'll get
some interesting responses.  Maybe not!  ;^))
