[TowerTalk] Yaesu Rotors

Thought I'd add a couple words about them. I have two
G1000SDX's on the tower and love them...much nicer in
many respects than the old tailtwisters I used to use
and repair all the time. I turn a 40-2CD and TH6 with
one, and an IIX sidearm with a TH6 with the other.

I replaced a G1000SDX for a friend recently after a
lightning hit, and found that Yaesu changed from a 5
pin to a 6 pin conector...so we had to replace the
connector on what otherwise would have been a very
easy job! One of the advantages of the Yaesu is that
smaller gage rotor cable than that required by Hy Gain
rotors is adequate.

Some of the other features I like are as follows: (I
don't work for Yaesu!)
1. Appearance of control box.
2. 90 degree overlap
3. Connectors at control box AND rotor
4.Variable speed control...turns faster than
tailtwister
5. Preset control...hands free operation
6. Position is indicated with power off
7. Mast adjustments in rotor avoid need to shim

The only negative I can think of is that there is only
one source for service if needed, with slow turnaround
compared to Norm's and the Rotor doctor! So far I
haven't needed service.
