   Thanks for your comments!  I visited L.B. Cebik, W4RNL's
site http://www.cebik.com/ and he appears to recommend .2 wl
up (35 feet for 80 meters).

   I was interested to visit

again because I think that is where I got the idea that a real low (8 feet
above grade) NVIS would work well ... think I should have interpreted
it as "will function", not necessarily "well" compared to 20 feet up on
their
test frequency of 40m.  ;-)
