   I really enjoyed all the comments to me about the post I had on the affect 
of trees  on verticals and beverages.  Some suggested some doubt about what I 
had done.  I have news for you.  I did all that.  I just took the 5 band 
vertical out of the tree I hide in it and a 75M vertical out of another other 
tree.  I made full use of all the trees around me, in other yards and the 
telephone poles.  I'm going to miss these trees and poles and a 550' vee beam 
across a lake.  One winter when the lake froze I had an insulated wire 
beverage laying on the ice and on the bottom after it thawed.  The bit about 
the plant stimulator is true as is the bit about the gamma matched tree in a 
WWII Radio Manual.  It must have been for "Vegetarian Radio Operators".
   I slipped that bit about the Iron Wood and Silver Maple Trees past an 
editor of CQ about 30 years ago and just have been waiting for a chance to 
use it again and it appeared.  k7gco
