I use a pair fall-arrest lanyards on the back D-ring, plus a positioning
lanyard on the belt D-rings for the best of both worlds. All in an
integrated full-body fall-arrest harness, of course. I never have to
be disconnected while climbing or working. I occaisionally do the first
60 feet free-climbing. With the latest round of stories, I may reconsider
that approach.
I find tower work to be difficult and dangerous. The only reason I
deal with it at all is because a) I just love playing radio, and b)
I want my tower and antenna installation to be as good as I can make it.
No one will ever care as much about my installation as I will. Or my life.
