Jim KH7H, is absolutely correct on his local propagation frequency/hour
observations.
When 40M goes out about two hours after sun down, 80M comes up good. 80M
goes out about Midnight and then 160M is the frequency of choice.
When the sun comes up, 80M comes back. Several hours after that, 80 goes
out and 40M comes in.
Here in the Hawaiian Islands, if there is a disaster, help cannot arrive by
car--so emergency communications is a must.

Here in Hawaii, 80 meters does NOT work among the
islands, spanning some 350 miles, during the day.
We use 40 meters during daylight, then either 80
or 160 after dark, much better for our particular
situation out here. This has been demonstrated in
test after test in KH6 land.
