[TowerTalk] Rude Tower Salesman

I work one block from Texas Towers and stop by there
several times a week to say Hi.  Quite often Ill enter the store and never
say a word because Gerald and his help are too busy on the phone lines.
Texas Towers does have an on-line catalog at www.texastowers.com that is
complete with prices.  I believe their QST ads indicate this.  Check out the
web site and you can get all the info you want.
Texas Towers is one of those rare ham radio retailers that has been around
for over 20 years. No company will last that long by being rude to
customers... or by staying on their "order" lines answering inane questions
from someone who probably will not buy anything anyway.

Since we are talking about towers, here, I need to ask if anyone has ideas
about where in Texas to buy some Rohn 45-G tower and accessories.

I called a company today (won't mention any names, but it was a Texas Tower
retailer in the Dallas area).  Got a guy named Gerald.  He let me know
right away that he really didn't have much time to talk to me.  I had a
list of items I needed quotes on.  At one point, he put me on hold to
answer another line.  I didn't get a chance to tell him that I am also
looking to buy a new HF rig, a couple of beams and other stuff in addtion
to the tower.

Anyway, does anyone have a recommendation of a good place to buy this stuff
in Texas?
