    I've run a bunch of patterns and there is an advantage of having more 
than .125WL in spacing in gain and most F/B.  A friend insists he can tell 
the difference on the air.  It's better on the sides and back.  The vertical 
pattern is a bit sharper and will be beneficial.  I plan to use around 
.14-.15 WL as I got some real deep nulls in the rear over 50 dB.  To make use 
of it over the band you will need a variable Xc in the reflector driven by a 
selsyn at the mast.  k7gco.
