A well designed quad has only a slight gain over the same boom yagi and
as much as the boom lenght increases, that gain becomes neglegible
since the equivalent capture areas of the 2 antennas tend to overlap.
To gain some 4 dB over a 2 elemnts yagi the boom of a quad antenna
should be about .8 wl long, but alraedy a yagi with such boom has the
same gain.
Concerning the elevation angles, no way an horizontally polarized quad
antenna sharpens vertical patterns and behaves different than a yagi
placed at the equivalend quad height (middle).
The basical adventage of a 2 elements quad over a 2 element yagi might
be a better F/B and a much better immunity to rain static.
The other side of the horse is a much weaker mechanical structure to
deal with.
