I have received several emails with the same question so I will respond
here in case I have confused anyone else.

The shunt feed cage does limit how far I can rotate the XA mounted
on the swingarm. Normally the XA on a swing arm could cover almost 300
degrees but because of the shunt feed cage I can only rotate it from about
30 to 165 degrees. And to get even that much rotation I had to bend
the cage in to about one foot from the tower where the XA is located.
The cage is actually quite small consisting of a square of 4 wires about
3 inches on a side. For most of its length it is about 27 inches from
the tower. I was concerned that bending in the cage would severely
effect either the tuning or the performance (the bottom XA was added after
the tower was shunt fed) but only a slight change was required to the
shunt capacitor and performance seemed unchanged.
