[TowerTalk] true north vs magnetic

My USGS map states " magnetic north declination ... 12 degrees east"

the bearing from my QTH to SP calculates as 41 degrees on a great circle
bearing program, I assume this to be a true bearing

for purposes of calibrating my azimuth indicator I point the antenna to 53
degees magnetic

I believe that this gives an azimuth of 41 degrees true and then I can use
the azimuth indicator to point per the computer generated data

Did I do this correctly or backwards??

thanks, Bruce
