Hello All
After the XYL saw how big my tower was going to be she decided that if the
TV antenna was high ie on the tower then the TV and FM reception would be
better.I don't have a problem with mounting the TV antenna on the tower but
I am concerned about how to protect it from lightning and about TVI.
The tower will be 70' of Rohn 25 with a 20' 2" .25" wall mast, a TH6DXX just
above the top of the tower and a Force 12 EF-240X 40 meter beam on top of
the mast. Later I want to side mount an other TH6 at about 35'. I figure I
could put the TV antenna somewhere below the lower TH6 but how do I protect
it from lightning during storms? I know she will refuse to disconnect the
antenna during storms so is this a bad idea? Will I have trouble with TVI
with this setup?
Most of the time I run 100 watts but I am capable of 1KW if needed
Thanks and 73
Rick
