[TowerTalk] TV antenna on ham tower

Hi Rick,
We don't have much lightning here so I am not an expert on that, but I would
think that the other larger and higher antennas on the same tower would shield
your TV antenna from some of the lightning, assuming you don't put the TV
antenna at the very top . . .
Even if you get some TVI with the antenna near the ham antennas, you could
consider it a second TV antenna to be used when you are not on the air and it
might provide you with real nice reception most of the time which is better than
not having that option at all, it seems to me. In this case you would need an
A-B switch and maybe you could ground the TV antenna with the switch when not in
use. I am not sure how much lightning protection that will provide but it is
probably better than none and your wife would probably rather throw a switch
than fool around with taking connectors off and on.
