[TowerTalk] Conclusion, G5RV vs. Dipole

Well Guys,

I didn't give a consensus because they was no complete agreement.

But the thoughts were:

1. The G5RV is a better multi-band antenna than a 80M doublet.

2. An 80M doublet has slightly more gain on 80 because it is longer than the 
102' G5RV.

3. The 80M doublet will probably not tune sufficiently on 40M, or with low 
efficiency if it does, because of very high impedance.

4. The G5RV is probably a better antenna for NVIS because of the vertical 
component of the parallel transmission line.

5.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it--if the G5RV is working don't spend your 
time trying to better it, which you may not and even come out worse.
