I just repaired my T2X this week (Tuesday). Similar symptoms.... way
too similiar!
My trouble started at the 60 degs... but I couldn't rotate it past 60
degs going
South. I rocked it back and forth a few times, and it got it to go.
Then I brought
it north to 45 degs. After that, I couldn't move it South past 45 degs,
or North
past 0 degs!!!
I had a broken ring gear. 3 teeth were missing. Found two of them in
the housing.
The third was jammed in the gear train. I had anticipated the broken
ring gear,
and ordered one from MFJ/HyGain *and* Norm's Rotor Service. Got them
both very
quickly via US mail. Extracting the broken tooth from the gear train
was tricky,
but finally got it out.
The T2X works fine now, and will go back up the tower this weekend.
73 es GL!
