They did for the Hoover dam.
There was an interesting show last night on the Hoover Dam. It is an
all concrete structure. They said something like 64,000 million tons
(may not quite got the exact number but it as astronomical). The
heating of this stuff while setting required an refrigeration system
be included within the concrete-- else it would have cracked. Only
once chance to get it right! They show pictures of them laying the
cooling pipes before each pour.
We complain about the cost of a few cubic yards of concrete....
For sale: One slightly used refrigeration system. Large heat removal
capacity. Contact Hoover Dam.
