If you have a rebar cage in the hole as part of your tower base assy., a
concrete vibrator unit really helps to get the concrete moved around and
through the structure. I rented a small electric concrete vibrator unit from
the local rental store for $15.00. The truck driver would dump a mound of
concrete ( this was a six bag mix, so it was a little stiffer than normal)
over the cage and anchor bolt system, and I would fire up the vibrator and
the concrete would flow like water. I don't know how I would have gotten the
mix through the tight spaces in the rebar cage without it! My base was also
4'X4'x8'.
