In most cases, the only foolproof method is to use bands/colors of
electrical tape on coax and rotor type cables.  Of course, you have to
record what your color code is somewhere!

Use matching bands in the shack, or use tags that list the color code on the
tower.

Decide on a standard for all rotator/control cables and stick with it on
each device
