No, it was not LB, but Henry Elwell, N4UH, of Cleveland, NC (not OH).  And 
there were two articles.  One in Ham Radio, Oct. 1980 titled Long 
Transmission Lines for Optium Antenna Location (8 & 1/2 pages long); and in 
Ham Radio, January 1987 titled Open-Wire Line for 2 Meters (2 pages).

I have kept these on-file for years.  They make for interesting reading on 
rainy days.
