Here's another good test to perform.

On each element half,
Connect a DC Ohmmeter between the 10 meter outer capacitor tube
and the 15 meter outer capacitor tube. The reading should be less
than about 0.5 ohm. Shake the element while taking the reading to
detect any intermittents. This one measurement checks every joint
in the element half. Don't forget to subtract the resistance of
the ohmmeter leads.

Also, do the following test: connect a DC ohmmeter between the two
halves of the rear driven element. The meter should show a short,
through the flat phasing straps, the matching section, and the balun.
